Awards/Cups/Series
Alberta Provincial Road SeriesThe Alberta Provincial Road Series recognizes the talent, dedication, sacrifice, and consistent performance of riders competing primarily in Alberta races. The Alberta Provincial Road Series also provides the ABA with a vehicle for identifying developing talent and upgrading riders. Points are awarded in Categories 1/2, 3, 4, 5, and Open Women
Details of the Road portion of the Alberta Cup are as follows:
- All ability category Alberta road races will be categorized into three schedules: A and B.
- Out-of-province riders are eligible for points and awards but not series titles.
- Ties will be broken by performance at the Provincial ITT
- Point standings are available at www.albertabicycle.ab.ca
- Team Time Trial points are awarded to teams only. Each team will receive points as per Alberta Cup schedules.
Team StandingsThe Alberta Cup road race team standings are calculated on the combined points of a club’s top 3 riders in each category.
Prizes and AwardsThe champion of the Category 1/2 and the Women’s “A” will be awarded the Doug Grieder Memorial Cups. Respective male and female champions will have the honour of wearing body number 1 the following year.
