2012 Provincial Track Team

 National Track Championships, September 12 - 18, Dieppe, New Brunswick

Alberta cyclists have a tradition of strong performances on the track. This year a team of U19 riders will be chosen to represent Alberta.

Riders will be selected based on Omnium points earned at the Provincial Track Championships, July 28 – 29 in Edmonton. The following will apply: In all cases, Omnium points will be awarded to the top 6 finishers in each event as follows: 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, and 4.     

Omnium ties will be broken as follows: number of first places earned; if still tied, number of second places, if still tied …. Should this method not break a tie, the best placing in the last event in which the two riders competed head-to-head shall break the tie.

Riders will be selected, in order of priority, as follows:

1. 1^st Junior Men – Provincial Track Omnium
2. 2^nd Junior Men – Provincial Track Omnium
3. 1^st Junior Women – Provincial Track Omnium
4. 2^nd Junior Women – Provincial track Omnium
5. Racing Committee selection – Junior or U17, Men or Women
6. Racing Committee selection – Junior or U17, Men or Women

The team will be announced by July 31^st.
