National Road Championships – Junior, June 28 -July 1, Lac Megantic, Quebec
The focus for the 2012 National Road Championships will be on Junior riders; the team will consist of 4 Junior men and 2 Junior women. The team will be selected as follows:
Junior Men and Women will be selected on points earned, according to the schedule below, at the following four races: Velocity Time Trial, Velocity Criterium, Velocity Road Race, and Pigeon Lake Road Race. Each rider’s best three results will be used to calculate their respective standing. Ties will be broken by performance in the Velocity Time Trial.
Points will be based on the finish rank from all competitors in Category 3 (Junior Men) and Women Cat 3-5 (Junior Women); except for the Velocity Time Trial where selection points will be awarded exclusively to junior riders. The team will be selected in the following order of priority:
Junior riders not currently placed in Category 3 may be given temporary upgrades to compete for selection at the discretion of the Racing Committee.

For Junior Men and Junior Women, the gear restriction of 7.93 meters
will be enforced in the selection events; riders may “block-off” gears
should they not be equipped with the proper chainring / cassette combination.
The team will be announced by May 29th.
