The Edmonton Bike Plan project is rolling along! Over the last few months we connected with many of you to talk about our draft Aspiration and Values, what matters to people as they choose a bike route, and what is needed to make sure biking is well-integrated with other ways to move around our city. Thanks to all of you who contributed your time and energy to that work.
Our next phase of engagement has just gotten underway. We’re sharing a draft Bike Network Map for input, and talking about what to prioritize as we move forward to implement the Bike Plan. We’re asking questions like:
- Does our draft Bike Network Map hit the mark? What’s missing?
- Where should we focus our limited resources to make biking better in Edmonton - in the short and the long term?
- How do we balance building out the physical bike network with supporting programs like education, wayfinding and bike parking?
Here's how you can participate in Phase 3:
Drop-in Sessions
The Bike Plan team has joined with the City Plan and Energy Transition Strategy project teams to host a series of drop-in sessions on these three transformative projects. You’ll have a chance to check out our draft Bike Network Map, learn how it was created, and help us to address any gaps. These events are taking place this week - check out the details here!
Registered Workshops - November 2, 5 and 6
These workshops will be interactive, hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves events. There will be childcare and fun activities for children, so please feel welcome to bring them along!
Online survey
If you can't make it out to an event in person, you can access our online survey at edmonton.ca/bikeplan starting in early November.
We look forward to connecting with many of you in this phase - and we'd be grateful if you would share this information with your communities! Our October 2019 Bike Plan Newsletter has this information in a handy shareable format.
As always, feel free to reach out to us anytime at bikeplan@edmonton.ca.
Many thanks,
The Bike Plan Project Team
